Our people are constantly coming up with new ways of doing things
The new product development (NPD) group transforms an idea into useful product(s) and profitable business propositions.
Needless to say, we need to touch on every aspect to deliver this vision – starting from understanding the user segments, to considering their needs rather than just the stated ‘requirements’, making (creating? developing?) value propositions, making technology choices and design trade-offs, designing robust and high performance products, developing and building the supply chain, preparing the manufacturing setup and process, and finally to launching the products in the market.
The key attributes required to deliver this goal are innovation and team-work. Our people are constantly coming up with new ways of doing things, touching aspects unheard of earlier, taking challenges that appear impossible at the start and converting a simple idea into a strong and distinctive product. Teams set their own benchmarks and deliver to the larger organisation goal of producing “best in class” products and solutions.
We are in a continuous quest for excellence, nourish a never say die attitude, and are happy to take on new challenges
One of the core beliefs that we live by is: “There is always a better way of doing things.” It is visible in our everyday work culture where we are in a continuous quest for excellence, nourish a never say die attitude, and are happy to take on new challenges. The teams work together, sometimes burning the midnight oil, across functions and roles to achieve a common goal; together we celebrate the success of hurdles overcome.
The leadership team is actively engaged with the new product development process, providing foresight, vision and guidance based on their collective experience and enabling teams to take a holistic view.
A product can only be profitable when it is valuable to its users
New product development is much more than producing new designs and introducing new technology in business, because a product can only be profitable when it is valuable to its users. We at NPD strive to make this happen.
