The most powerful learning comes from curiosity- an unquenchable desire to know. All children have it, but it sometimes gets lost along the way. Khoj runs workshops to bring back curiosity and critical thinking. It hopes to nurture tomorrow’s innovators and inventors; as Neil Tyson deGrasse said: “Kids should be allowed to break stuff more often. That’s a consequence of exploration. Exploration is what you do when you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s what scientists do every day.”
Through Khoj, we take science experiments and exhibits to schools, allowing children to explore and experience these fundamental concepts. Volunteers design, build, and curate these experiments. This programme runs in Udaipur and in Himachal Pradesh, with a pilot running in Sweden too.
In addition, we have a space in a shopping mall in Udaipur where children can come at weekends to play with puzzles and other experiments. Here, we run science shows and workshops for children too. Khoj is all about bringing science alive and letting kids experience the joy of exploration and discovery.
