Pipit 500 is one of a range of in-home displays developed by Secure Meters to meet UK smart metering requirements. The in-home displays form part of the extensive range of home control products and services from Secure Meters. Pipit will support electricity and gas dual fuel installations and is designed to meet requirement for smart metering in-home displays at an affordable price. Pipit is designed to keep customers engaged with their energy usage by representing consumption information in user friendly speed dial and numerical displays. Customers can easily see their current consumption in energy and money terms, historical information and estimate of how long their credit will last. Information is shown on a touch screen interface with backlight. Pipit is capable of remote firmware upgrade after installation to allow features and functionality to be changed. It is compatible with smart metering solutions with Zigbee SEP certified meters.

  • If one or both of the meters is in PAYG mode customers can view:
    • Remaining credit in money terms
    • Estimate of how long remaining credit should last based on recent consumption history
    • Friendly and emergency credit status
  • Remote firmware upgrade
  • Interoperable with SSWG compliant smart meter communication hubs
  • Backup battery allows use of in-home display when electricity is disconnected

  • ‘Traffic light’ indicators identify your current consumption status – Low, Med, High
  • Links wirelessly to your ZigBee® SEP 1.x enabled Smart Meter, and displays actual energy consumption
  • Displays and reports the energy exported from your solar panels
