SSP302 enables appliances to be switched on or off locally or remotely, via a Z-Wave home automation system. It also acts as a remote monitor for a range of electrical parameters that can be interrogated by other devices connected to the network. SSP302 can also report whether the connected appliance is switched on or off. SSP302 also acts as a Z-Wave repeater to extend wireless coverage, and eliminate 'dead spots', by retransmitting radio frequency signals, thereby improving communications reliability within the network.

Application

Remote monitoring of an appliance An electrical appliance can be monitored remotely by plugging it to an SSP302, which is in turn fitted to an electrical wall socket. The electrical load parameters can be interrogated by other devices on the network. Remote control of an appliance An electrical appliance can be controlled remotely by plugging it to an SSP302, which is in turn fitted to an electrical wall socket. The appliance can also be switched on or off locally, using a switch on the SSP302. Z-Wave network repeater SSP302 can be used to extend network range by plugging it into an electrical wall socket near the limit of Z-Wave coverage. The unit boosts the signal so that it can reach devices sited further away.
