SSP301 enables appliances to be switched on or off locally or remotely, via a Z-Wave home automation system. It also acts as a Z-Wave repeater to extend wireless coverage, and eliminate 'dead spots', by retransmitting radio frequency signals, thereby improving communications reliability within the network. SSP301 can also report whether the connected appliance is switched on or off.


Remote control of an appliance An electrical appliance can be controlled remotely by plugging it to an SSP301, which is in turn fitted to an electrical wall socket. The appliance can also be switched on or off locally, using a switch on the SSP301. Z-Wave network repeater SSP301 can be used to extend network range by plugging it into an electrical wall socket near the limit of Z-Wave coverage. The unit boosts the signal so that it can reach devices sited further away.
