We hold a firm belief that employees are key to the success of an organisation, and excellence in any pursuit encourages it in others. Keeping this in mind, our employees pursue their passions for sports and cultural activities alongside their work, with a desire to get better at everything they do.
The first thing to do is fall in love with your work, workplace and the people surrounding you. When we set in place the employee engagement programme, we did not know the deep impact it would have in this regard. All we knew was that it would help employees, especially the younger ones, at the end of a hard day’s work.
Every year ends with the much-anticipated announcement of teams at every location to run this programme – the ‘MAST’ team are responsible for the cultural events, whilst the ‘Offline’ team organises all the sporting events. What follows is a remarkable fusion of platforms sharing, performing, enjoying and living every moment. The events are a place where path-breaking ideas and unexplored talent comes to light, and the team effort bridges the barriers of functions, hierarchy, genders and generations.
We create a fun-filled environment that helps us all to de-stress, but in addition, we can often end up discovering a new ‘me’, and there is great scope for learning new skills. Perhaps the highlight of our busy calendar is an annual event called Sems Day, which always turns out to be a spell-binding display of rhythm, an ensemble of music, dance and skits, sculpted with morals. Our value system and a rich legacy of Indian tradition and cultural diversity is particularly clear on Sems Day, and what we witness are Semsites (all of us who work at Secure) at their creative best, unfolding a world of imagination and beauty. Semites feel extremely fortunate to witness the talent and passion that this event brings out in us all every year. It has a huge impact on our sense of togetherness and gives us an enormous sense of pride to be part of such a capable and creative group.
