Our latest case study, published in IEEMA Journal (June), explores how smart prepayment, consumer engagement, and tariff innovation can work together to create lasting impact in large-scale AMI deployments. Further, it demonstrates how technology can help in structured consumer onboarding across pre-installation, installation, and post-installation phases.
Drawing on learnings from the North Bihar AMI rollout, the paper highlights how a consumer-first approach, supported by transparent communication, user-friendly technology, and trust-building mechanisms, can improve adoption, strengthen payment discipline, and prepare consumers for future tariff innovations.
Some of the outcomes highlighted in the case study include:
• ~90% online recharge adoption
• ~5,000 meters/day installation productivity
• ~3 million online recharges / month
• ~21% improvement in debt recovery
A proud example of how thoughtful engineering and real-world implementation can deliver measurable outcomes for both utilities and end-consumers.
