Moving towards a more sustainable world

Udaipur is blessed with natural beauty all around and we are lucky to call it our home. It is our responsibility to ensure that it is preserved in its natural state for generations to come.

Our community-driven environmental projects aim to do our part in protecting and conserving our natural heritage.

10 Lakh Vriksh

10 Lakh Vriksh is an initiative by the people, for the people, that aims to plant 10 lakh trees in and around the city in a span of five years. Directions for their care and monitoring will be available through the 10 lakh Vriksh app for their nurturing to ensure a future with a greener Udaipur.

Jungle

Jungle is a conservation project of some eroded hills entrusted by the Govt to us. We focus on conservation and replantation of the area while making the experience adventurous and fun for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, offering all a chance to give back to mother earth.

Public Park Projects

We have been issued with reforming and renovating some parks to be used by the general public in Udaipur. Our prime goal while designing these gardens are reimagining and reusing waste items while creating a safe and pleasing environment for all ages.

Judge’s colony park

A project of re-designing a park located in a residential area for judges of Udaipur courts. The idea is to create a green barrier that will restrict the views into the park while creating a safe area for children to play in and adults to exercise at the outdoor gym, which is being revamped by reusing the parts that are in good condition and meets our design guidelines. Hence, with minimised waste, we are creating a sustainable garden space. We are planting local trees that will support the local ecosystem.

Swaroop Sagar park

The Park is located on the western bank of the Swaroop Sagar lake. We are using the existing infrastructure first and reusing the waste on-site to build the new structures. The main attraction of this park will be a canopy of approximately 1 lakh life-size birds made with recycled plastic, which will swarm around a steel truss structure, providing shade and visual interest at the entrance to the park. Planting local species that encourage the nesting of both local and migratory birds will be fascinating for the bird watchers of Udaipur. The design will also be safe, secure and accessible for wheelchair users of all ages.

Fatehsagar lakeside flower show

For many years, Urban Improvement Trust, in Udaipur, with other government and non-government trusts and organisations, has been organising an annual flower show at Fatehsagar lakeside. We take this platform to promote and present themes encouraging reuse of waste to create a sustainable and healthy environment with ideas like re-purposing items at home, growing vegetables at our kitchen garden using manure, using PVC pipes to grow vegetables and using waste rubber tyres instead of cement or plastic flower pots to grow vegetables.
