1,000,000 smart meters have been successfully commissioned in North Bihar, marking a momentous achievement worth celebrating.
We hit a significant milestone of having commissioned 1,000,000 smart meters under our AMISP contract. With this milestone, we have set a global record! No single agency in one region has pulled off deploying metering at such a fast rate with such consistency. Additionally, it is an incredibly large rollout of devices running on NB-IoT, a cellular standard meticulously tailored for this very purpose.
This deployment isn’t merely about numbers; it signifies a tangible impact. It has significantly enhanced timely revenue collection for NBPDCL and elevated service levels for its customers.
These prepaid smart meters, installed across the rural landscape of North Bihar, are transforming the region into a smart one. Further, they are transforming the lives of the people in the region and eliminating the pain points associated with traditional electricity meters.

The success event was held in Muzaffarpur (Bihar) on the 13th of March 2024.
