Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are an integral part of the Indian economy, contributing to 33 per cent of India’s GDP and roughly 40 per cent of exports. Compared to large scale industries, the vulnerability of MSMEs to increasing energy prices is very high, and they end up paying a huge amount in terms of per-unit cost of energy.
