In October 2016, I began my internship at Secure. The experience was of valuable learning and professional development. When I started my journey in the Quality Assurance team, I met some of the most wonderful people who mentored me at every step.

As a part of my training, I learned about various audits conducted on the production line, failure analysis, preventing future failures, and the processes that play a significant role in the quality assurance of the products.

The internship was going well until one fine day when I received a call from HR; I was asked to meet the Head of HR. The call made me nervous. I thought maybe I had made a mistake in the past few days, but I couldn’t recall anything. My anxiety and concern increased as I went for the meeting. The Head HR began the meeting by asking if I was interested in working in a paint shop. At the time, I had no idea about paint shops and how they operated. I simply said, “Yes, I am interested”. My curiosity was piqued, and I looked forward to learning more about this new possibility. During the meeting, he told me that I would be interviewed by Hemant Sir (one of our group executives) for the same.

In May 2017, I was interviewed by Hemant sir. The interview went great. We had an in-depth discussion about the paint shop project. It was a little intimidating for me at first to work in a Mechanical department since I am an electronics engineer. Nevertheless, I am grateful that I took advantage of the opportunity and gained many valuable skills. Furthermore, I could now apply the knowledge I acquired from the Quality department in my new position.

My career path later took me from the paint shop to a new field: gas metering. Having completed a week of intensive training, I joined the Sanand factory in November 2018 as a Trainee Engineer. The project was in progress when I arrived at the factory. I met the Project Manager, and in no time, he made me feel at home. Till now, we are good friends. I also met the Deputy General Manager of production. He patiently guided me through the process and later I was promoted to the position of Production Engineer.

The opportunities given to me and the experience I gained over the years in Udaipur and Sanand helped me take on great challenges without any fear. Working in different fields allowed me to discover many new things and made me a confident person. Besides enhancing my skills, I also got to be part of a cooperative team that helped one another at every turn and took responsibility for its work.

From starting my journey as an intern to getting promoted to production engineer, I gained a lot of knowledge in people handling and resolving complex issues. My success would not have been possible without the encouragement of all these people I met at Secure. I want to express my gratitude to Mr Subrata Ghosh, Mr Sudhir Manglick and Batul ma’am for showing trust and confidence in me.
