We love to learn and want the next generation to love it as much as we do
Sitting in a classroom, writing notes, and wishing the minute hand on the clock could move just a little faster. We’ve all been there, and it’s no fun. But learning doesn’t have to be like that. And as a group, we love to learn and want the next generation to love it as much as we do.
That’s where our work with the community is focused. The best work happens where we use our core strengths to meet the needs that the community has, whilst strengthening our own culture and workforce. We spend our time working in and with schools, and school children, getting them to move beyond their textbooks, into a land of joy, curiosity, exploration and discovery.
Sustainable change can only come from within the community!
All our community work is volunteer driven - sustainable change can only come from within the community! Everyone is given three working days to devote to a community project that they care about, or that they feel will help them develop their own skills and confidence. These opportunities range from honing design and manufacturing skills, by building exciting and deep science experiments; to developing management skills, by leading teams in school; to improving data analysis experience, by joining the monitoring team.
Equipping children with the desire to learn, the ability to think and awareness of the broader world and their place in it
Whilst the programmes we run in schools vary widely in their structure and content, depending on the needs of a particular school or community, they are all driving towards the same goal; to equip children with the desire to learn, the ability to think and awareness of the broader world and their place in it, as these are essential for a productive, fulfilling life.
